The global nano battery market was valued at $5.1 billion in 2020, and is projected to reach $28.1 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 18.6% from 2021 to 2030.

A nano battery is a battery made using nanoscale technology, with particles smaller than 100 nanometers. Nano batteries can be nano or use nanotechnology in full scale batteries. Nanoscale batteries can also be combined to act as a macro battery, just like in nanopore batteries. There are many benefits to using nanotechnology to make nanobatteries, including increasing available battery power and reducing battery charge time. These advantages can be achieved by coating the nanoparticles on the electrode surface, thereby effectively increasing the electrode surface area by allowing higher current between the electrode and the battery electrolyte.

Rise in adoption of nanotechnology in the manufacturing of batteries to decrease the weight of end use applications such as portable tools, automotive, consumer electronics products such as laptops, tablets, and others is expected to drive the growth of the market during the forecast period. There are a number of factors that are holding back the growth of the market, such as increased price and technology competition, difficulties in manufacturing of nano materials and others in the upcoming years. On the contrary, increase in investment toward nano materials for its use in production of batteries is anticipated to create opportunities for key players operating in the market from 2021 to 2030.

The global nano battery market is segmented on the basis of technology, application, and region. Depending on technology, the market is classified into nano phosphate, nano pore, and lithium-ion. On the basis of application, it is categorized into consumer electronics, military, power tools & industrial, renewables & grid energy, transport, and others.
