The global oil and gas accumulator market was valued at $488.3 million in 2020, and is projected to reach $814.4 million by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 5.3% from 2021 to 2030.

Oil & gas accumulators are hydro-pneumatic equipment, which can store non-compressible fluid even under extreme pressure. These accumulators can be used for applications such as blow-out prevention, drilling rigs, mud pumps, and others. Bladder accumulator is the most widely used hydro-pneumatic accumulators. It is filled with nitrogen in a forged or welded steel pressure vessel. Piston accumulators use pistons as a separating element for gas and liquid. It consists of cylinder tubes with an inter-surface designed for a high-pressure sealing system.

The growth of the global oil and gas accumulator market is driven by increasing exploration & production activities and rising awareness of work safety habits. Several hazards, such as well blowout, explosion, oil spills, and others, occur due to high-pressure fluctuations during exploration and drilling activities. Oil and gas accumulators are widely used to handle high-pressure fluctuations and leakage compensation in oil wells by utilizing the compressible and incompressible nature of nitrogen gas for reducing the risk factors of hazards. In addition, the use of oil and gas accumulators in drilling and exploration activities ensures the safety of equipment and labor by reducing the hazard risk. It also eliminates the financial losses associated with the hazards by safely regulating the operating pressure and working conditions in the oil rig.

However, transition to renewable source of energy and high volatilities in prices of oil & gas is expected to hamper the market growth.

On the other hand, rising investment in onshore and offshore projects may offer remunerative opportunities for the oil and gas accumulator market in future. The global oil demand is increasing rapidly, which, in turn, has increased the sales of oil and gas accumulators. Moreover, increasing industrialization, electricity demand, and other factors have led the governments of both developed and developing economies to invest more in power generation, maximizing oil and gas production, and other end-use sectors. Oil and gas accumulators are widely employed for energy storage, pressure control, leakage compensation, and other applications.

The global oil and gas accumulator market analysis is done on the basis of type, deployment location, application, and region. Depending on type, the market is divided into bladder accumulator, piston accumulator, and diaphragm accumulator. On the basis of deployment location, it is fragmented into offshore and onshore. The applications covered in the study include blow-out preventor, drilling rigs, mud pumps, and others. Region-wise, the market is analyzed across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and LAMEA.
