An adhesive is any substance that, when applied to one surface of two separate items will bind them together and resists their separation. Adhesives are composed of polymers, which are macromolecules formed by linking of monomers. Synthetic adhesives fall into two categories thermoplastics and thermosets. The polymers are employed into functional types namely contact cements, structural adhesives, hot-melt adhesives, pressure -sensitive adhesives and ultraviolet-cured adhesives. Disposable hygiene adhesives play a very important role in manufacture of user friendly and environment friendly hygiene products.
