Fluoroscopy is the upgraded X-beam which produces the moving pictures of an object on the screen or a monitor. This technology allows physicians to visualize internal organs, muscles, and bones; and helps them make critical decisions during surgery with minimum patient discomfort. Initially, fluoroscopy devices used image intensifiers resulting in higher radiation exposure. However, new technology-based fluoroscopy devices use flat panel detectors for digital image processing that substantially reduces the radiation dose administered to the patient. Minimal invasive techniques can be adopted due to the introduction of fluoroscopy, resulting in minimum risks to the patients and also in the reducing length of stay in the hospital.
End-user/Technology
The top users of this technology are mostly from Healthcare institutions (hospitals, medical schools, group practices, individual surgeons, and governing bodies), diagnostic centers & research institutes.
Market Dynamics
The Global Fluoroscopy market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.3% for the next decade. The very competitive market for fluoroscopy hardware is applying massive weight to the makers to decrease the cost of the machine which in turn is cutting down their profit margins. This kind of a scenario is presently the critical challenge in emerging markets.
Market Segmentation
The Global Fluoroscopy market has been segmented by -Device Type, surgery, end use, Application & Geography. By device type, the global fluoroscopy equipment market has been segmented into fluoroscopes without C-Arms and fluoroscopes with C-Arms. The fluoroscopes with C-Arms are further segmented into fixed fluoroscopes and mobile fluoroscopes. The mobile fluoroscopes are sub-segmented into full-size fluoroscopes and mini fluoroscopes. Based on the type of surgery, the global fluoroscopy market is segmented into cardiovascular interventions, biopsy, orthopedic surgeries, others. Based on the end-use type, the global fluoroscopy market is segmented into hospitals, diagnostic centers, clinics. By application, the fluoroscopy equipment market has been segmented into orthopedic, cardiovascular, pain management and trauma, neurology, gastrointestinal, urology, and general surgery. And geographically, the market has been segmented into North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and the Rest of the World.
Regional/Geographic Analysis
Geographically, the global fluoroscopy market is classified into regions namely, North America, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Japan, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa. North America dominated the market for fluoroscopy during recent years because of their innovative techniques, reasonable investments in infrastructures and right reimbursement policies for diagnostic procedures. The fluoroscopy market in the Asia-Pacific is expected to grow further with moderate rate due to rise in the aging population.
Opportunities
An immense range of uses, and appeal for human services infrastructure in developing and underdeveloped nations, are driving the worldwide fluoroscopes market. Rising awareness of interventional surgeries is expected to fuel revenue growth of the global fluoroscopy market over the forecast period. Also, a shift towards a value-based healthcare model, increasing number of hospital mergers and consolidations, increasing adoption of minimally invasive surgeries, a growing demand for enhanced imaging technology, and rising demand for C – Arms in cardiology and vascular surgery is likely to boost market growth in the coming years.
