Barrier materials are primarily defined as polymers used for packaging purposes and are particularly useful in stopping the penetration of small atmospheric and molecular gases such as carbon dioxide, oxygen, volatile favour nitrogen compounds, water vapour and aromatic compounds in packaging material.
